SIZING GUIDELINES

Vintage clothing sizes are significantly smaller than today's sizing. A vintage garment marked size 10 is NOT the same as a size 10 today. Generally, vintage garments are approximately 5 sizes smaller than today. Defining factors are also the designer, type of fabric, tailored vs. loose fitting, cut, style, european vs. north american, store brand to store brand -- to name a few.

European sizing, US & UK sizing are also all different. Please see guidelines below.

Our clothing is measured laying flat, and measurements are doubled, adding approximately 2 extra inches for the bust measurements only if the fabric allows.

Sizes in other stores may be different. It is always advisable when looking at vintage clothing, to follow the detailed measurements given. Please consider the measurements given in our descriptions as the most accurate.

CONDITION GUIDELINES

Vintage clothing is pre-worn. Occassionaly we come into possession of a mint vintage item - not previously worn, sometimes with the original store tags still attached.

We inspect all of our garments thoroughly. Any flaws and/or repairs are noted in descriptions and photographs taken where possible. We clean all of our garments using handwashing methods with biodegradable products. We also use the services of a local environmentally safe dry cleaner.

Our condition guideline is described as follows:

MINT - Like new, no flaws, perhaps never worn

EXCELLENT++ - Almost mint, but previously worn
EXCELLENT - No major flaws, previously worn.
VERY GOOD ++ - Previously worn, 1-3 flaws that will be quite small (less than 1 inch) and difficult to detect with naked eye.
VERY GOOD - Previously worn, either with several small flaws, or 1 large flaw.
GOOD - Previously worn with flaws visible to naked eye.
FAIR - Previously worn with several large flaws that are easily visible.
